Nutritionist Sejal Jacob told the BBC that when the urge to eat things like chocolate and chips arises, it’s important to understand why. “Eating addiction can occur for a variety of reasons, including imbalanced blood sugar levels, stress, lack of sleep, or, in the case of women, hormonal changes.”

Stress causes food cravings

As a general rule, people prefer sweets because they always think that they will quickly get the opportunity to feel comfortable and confident, and you are looking for foods that will quickly raise your serotonin and dopamine levels.

Therefore, the best way to control desires and impulses is to bring the routine into a healthier direction. Practicing physical activity, eating quality food, getting good sleep, and doing relaxation activities are essential.
