Hyundai i20 2020 Model
The Hyundai i20 2020 has been officially launched in India. The introductory price across India starts at ₹6.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The rising popularity for premium hatchbacks in Indian market makes this launch one of the crucial ones this year, for both the industry and for Hyundai.

The new Parametric Jewel pattern grille (as the company calls it) has given the car a fresh look that is never short on elegance. The projector headlamps are LED with i20 branding. Projector fog lamps are housed just below the headlamps, wrapped in a D-shaped casings that look visually appealing.
The turbo variant of the car packs an additional red-black colour theme with sporty red inserts at various spots across the exterior and interior.
The sporty lines and cuts continue towards the side profile. R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, chrome door handles, and chrome beltline are the highlights. Towards the back-end of the side profile, the large quarter-back glass on the C-pillar and blackened side sill garnish with i20 badge are eye-catching.
The most noticeable changes in the new model are in the rear part of the car. The all-new Z-shaped tail lights with a chrome belt line that connects the two ends look stunning. Reflectors atop and on either sides at the bottom, increase the intense look.
The interior is a fine balance of space, storage, comfort and convenience. It looks evident that the company has devoted much time in designing the interior with feedback on previous models.
The slight increase in width and wheelbase has allowed the company to increase the space on the inside. On the rear, the change is absolutely evident.
The legroom for back-seat passengers has increased when compared to the previous Elite i20 Also, there are decent levels of knee room and head room as well as under-thigh support. The windows are large enough to ensure proper light. One-touch electric sunroof makes its debut.

On the turbo variant, the seats feature red stitches and claddings.
Feature-loaded interior gets an industry-first Oxyboost Air Purifier with air quality display. The touchscreen infotainment system is sized 10.25-inches with HD display and navigation.
The 7-speaker sound system is from Bose. Other key features include blue-coloured ambient light theme, wireless phone charging with cooling pad and a large digital TFT instrument cluster with multi-information display. Hyundai’s BlueLink technology also makes its debut into the i20. .
The geometry of the cabin is horizontal which is evident on a glance at the dashboard. Ample USB and 12V charging ports are provided, along with sufficient storage spaces. For the added comfort of rear passengers, a rear-AC vent unit is provided too. The boot capacity is 300 litres.
1.0-litre Turbo petrol engine option makes its way to the new i20. This option will come with either a DCT or iMT gearbox.
The Turbo petrol engine option might have higher demand among customers due to its refinement, combined with the option for silky smooth DCT transmission.
Hyundai’s proven 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine option is continued, which is mated to either an IVT or a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
The diesel engine is 1.5-litre with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The various trims that cut-across these engine options are Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O).
The safety features onboard the car include segment-best six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, Rear Parking Camera with sensor display.
The new i20 also makes use of 66% high-strength steel which improves its crash-withstanding capacity.
