The fascinating upcoming horror-comedy film featuring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani which was formerly called “Laxmmi Bomb” has been recently renamed to “Laxmii”. Akshay kumar shared the first poster of the movie after the alteration of the name, giving his fans an exciting glimpse of what can be expected in this thrilling new movie.

The reason behind why ‘Laxmmi bomb’ had to go through a modification was its title, which came with the baggage of religious controversies. Hindu devotees of Goddess ‘Lakshmi’ found this description rather disrespectful.

Nevertheless, the censor board interestingly dropped the ‘Bomb’ from the title which was deemed to be an inappropriate adjective to describe the Goddess of wealth. A statement released by the makers reads, “The film, directed by Raghava Lawrence, went for its censor certificate and post the screening the makers had a discussion with CBFC. Keeping in mind and respecting sentiments of its viewers, the producers of the film – Shabinaa Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Akshay Kumar – have decided to change the title of their film. The horror comedy is now titled Laxmii”.

The film is a remake of the Tamil hit called Kanchana is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 9 November this Diwali. We can definitely see the excitement of the actors as they want the audiences to indulge in some light hearted horror, packed with a valuable message.
