Navy Day 2020
Navy Day is celebrated each year on December 4th. Navy Day is celebrated to honor the Indian Navy.
The date December 4th was chosen to recognize the Indian Navy’s achievements after the Indian Navy sank 4 Pakistani vessels. The incident took place during an operation in the year 1971. And right after that year, people celebrate Navy Day on the 4th of December.

As stated by the Navy Chief, Admiral Karambir Singh the Navy Day 2020 theme is, “Covid-19 and Chinese attempts to change status quo along northern borders have posed new challenges. The Navy is ready to face both these challenges”
Indian Navy Day 2020
In the year 1971 India Pakistan war was going on. During the war, Pakistan sent 4 vessels to attack Karachi harbor. The Indian Navy not only fought back well but also sank their vessels killing thousands of Pakistanis. After that, the day 4th of December is now celebrated as the Indian Navy Day.
International Navy Day
While International Navy Day is celebrated on October 27, India celebrated its Navy Day on December 4th to embark on the history and the achievements of the Indian Navy. Just like the soldiers protect the country by guarding the borders, the Navy guards the people by protecting the maritime. And check that no terrorist can enter the boundaries of our country via the means of water.
The Navy personals have to spend 5-7 months on the deck in the sea that too without using telephones. They live far away from their family to serve the country. And protect the life of its citizens. The Navy is one of the 3 defense forces in India. The other two are the Indian Army (Military), and the Indian Air Force.
The Navy Chief of India is Admiral Karambir Singh. While the Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhosale is known as the father of the Indian Navy.
