Nubank fired employee for thinking he was ‘too old’

In his LinkedIn account, which has already been liked and shared by thousands of people, Igor Ferreira stated that he was fired from his position after Nubank said that there were no more tasks or projects for the position he held.

The bank continued to hire him only when it was convenient to use the company’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) metrics, the former employee said. Igor Cherny, disabled (PwD) and LGBTKIAP+.

He recalls that at the time of his hiring, the bank was going through a difficult period after CEO Cristina Junqueira during her passage through the program living wheeltake a problematic speech.

“My contract was terminated due to this argument by a company that stands up and sings to all four winds its “culture” of diversity, inclusion and talent management, but at least I was praised as the oldest of more [sic]. One of the most uplifting and, paradoxically, most DISAPPOINTING experiences I have ever had in my career,” the former employee wrote in a post on his LinkedIn profile.

As Ferreira explained, his departure from the company was prompted by Nubank’s head of culture, performance and leadership. “For those who almost didn’t even shake my hand right at the end of the contract, it would be more decent and honest to turn me off via webcam,” he said in his post.
