Surprising winners at BAFTA Awards 2023: ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ and ‘Elvis’ win
Some amazing awards were handed out on Sunday night at the BAFTA Film Awards in London. The German war film All Quiet on the Western Front, the most nominated film of the evening, picked up seven awards this Sunday, including the statuette for best film of the year.
In addition to best picture, the film also won best director, best adapted screenplay, best foreign film, best original score and best sound. Next all silent the particularly wacky movie Elvis is also a big award-winner on the night: even lead actor Austin Butler won best male lead.

Banshees
The best British film of the night is undoubtedly The Banshees of Inisherin, which in addition to the Best British Film statuette won another three BAFTAs: Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon), Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan) and Best Screenplay. original. . Aftersun won the statuette for best British debut feature.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the evening is the fact that the Academy Awards favorite, Everything Everywhere All at Once, only took home one statuette. Only the statuette for best editing went to the film.
