Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik born on 12 January 1993, known by his stage name as Zayn, is an English singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Bradford, Malik first auditioned in the British show X Factor in 2010. After being eliminated as a solo performer, Malik was brought back to compete as a group of four other members to form the boy band One Direction. Malik left the group in March 2015 and subsequently pursue a solo career with RCA Records.

The singer, who will celebrate his 28th birthday on Jan. 12, informed fans on Twitter about his new music with a short video that had the word ‘Tomorrow’ plastered on a stage curtain. His new single along with his third studio album titled Nobody is Listening is slated for a Jan. 15 release. According to Pop Crave, Z’s third album features 11 tracks, including Vibez and the Sep. 2020 release Better.

Known for his moody R&B style which often translates to his fashion and stage persona, Zayn made his debut with Mind of Mine (2016), and its lead single, “Pillowtalk”. Malik became the first British male artist to debut at number one in both the UK and US charts.

Malik is has received several accolades, including an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, an MTV Video Music Award as a member of One Direction, and as a solo artist. He was a member of One Direction from 2010 to 2015 and has participated in the group’s songwriting process. Their albums such as Up all night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories have climbed to the top of the charts worldwide. One Direction’s massive success has been compared to the overwhelming popularity of the Beatles.

So far Zayn has released three full-length albums which include Mind of Mine (2016), Icarus Falls (2018), Nobody Is Listening which is set to be released in 2021. Malik began dating English singer Perrie Edwards of the band Little Mix in December 2011, and they got engaged in August 2013.

Zayn Malik has been in an on-and off-relationship with American supermodel Gigi Hadid since late 2015. Hadid appeared in his music video for the song “Pillowtalk”. Malik and Hadid welcomed their first child, a daughter, in September 2020. Although Zayn has stayed away from the spotlight making few appearances on talk shows and television, fans are awaiting his 2021 comeback with bated breath.
