Like the pilot ended, the second season opens on a new boat with guests coming and cuts to a corpse in the future. The new season has already garnered rave reviews from critics, who particularly praised Aubrey Plaza’s portrayal.

The official summary by HBO is “On a couples’ trip in Sicily, Harper, Ethan, Daphne, and Cameron spend an awkward first day sizing each other up. As Tanya arrives with her new assistant Portia, Dominic fields questions from his father Bert about his wife’s absence, while his son Albie plays neutral. Meanwhile, hotel manager Valentina tries to keep locals Mia and Lucia out of her establishment.

The White Lotus Season 1 Recap

A corpse is being placed into the aircraft as the pilot of The White Lotus begins at the airport with one of our guests, Shane (Jake Lacy), looking sour and alone without his new wife. The following six episodes see us witnessing whirling social dynamics spiral out of control before coming to a dramatic (and fatal) conclusion.

Our visitors and staff members had almost entirely lost control by episode six. Armond, the resort manager, is high on Sydney Sweeney Olivia’s supply and at his zenith in his passive-aggressive conflict with cornball himbo Shane. As a new trophy wife, Shane’s new bride Rachel is at the height of her identity crisis. With the assistance of a fickle, untrustworthy Tanya, Belinda is keen to establish a health empire. Kai, a Hawaiian native who worked at the resort and was Paula’s holiday fling, was discovered attempting to rob the Mossbachers.

Despite telling Shane she regrets marrying him, Rachel chooses to remain with him and joins him at the airport as the first season closes. By informing a travel agent about the Mossbachers’ crime on the last day of his honeymoon, Shane manages to get Armond fired. To leave his imprint in Shane’s bag, Armond spends his previous day going high like never before and sneaks into his room. When Shane enters the room again, he stabs him out of the blue because he believes he is an intruder. Therefore, Armond, the loving, occasionally nasty, insane resort manager, is the one who was found dead at the beginning of the season.

As the Mossbachers board the aircraft and their son Quinn leaves the terminal to join a group of Hawaiian surfers, floating into the setting sun without an iPad, the season comes to a reasonably stunning conclusion.
