grain of salt

According to MyTimeToShineHello on Twitter, the avenger will have his own show after he returns. Daredevil: Born Again.

Disney has yet to comment on the rumor and it should be taken with a grain of salt.

The Punisher

Jon Bernthal debuted as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, in season 2 of the Netflix series Daredevil.

He then played the character in his own spinoff series that ran for two seasons on the streaming service before it was canceled along with the other MCU Netflix shows.

As Daredevil characters appear more prominently in the MCU, including Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk, and Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin in Hawk EyeFans are wondering if characters like Castle will follow suit.

Confirmation

Bernthal’s return as The Punisher was confirmed in March 2023, with the actor joining the Born Again cast alongside Cox, D’Onofrio and Sandrine Holt, who reprises the role of Ayelet Zurer’s Vanessa Fisk.

Controversially, Daredevil veterans Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson are not expected to reprise their respective roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.

New cast members include Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson in undisclosed roles.

Echo

Before Born Again, the stories of Daredevil and the Kingpin will continue in Echo, a Hawkeye spin-off.

Alaqua Cox stars as deaf hitman Maya Lopez who leaves New York City to return to her Oklahoma hometown to reconnect with her Native American roots.

Producer Stephen Broussard spoke about the series’ unique tone, comparing it to the Werewolf By Night Halloween special.

“I don’t want to say too much because not much is known yet.” he said, but it feels very realistic, it feels very spiritual in ways that feel fresh to us. Alaqua as the lead is extremely captivating.

I really can’t think of anything comparable to what already exists in the broader MCU, let alone within what we’ve done here. So keep an eye out for those big things.”

The series will premiere on November 29, 2023 and will be shown in Disney+.
