Singer Margriet Eshuijs, known from the band Lucifer, passed away last night at the age of 70.
This is reported by his partner Maarten Peters. Eshuijs had been seriously ill for some time. His funeral will be held in private.
Along with Henny Huisman, the singer was part of the band Lucifer, which had a huge hit in 1975 with House for sale. The song entered the Top 40 at #4 at the time and has been in the Top 2000 since the annual chart’s inception, this year at 1519. Later, in the 1980s and 1990s, he continued as a solo artist.
